Weekend Update!

Just in case you forgot what I look like cause I haven't seen in so long!

Anyway... I just thought I'd give you a quick update on the weekend. I made an unexpected trip to Norman after finding out that you can vote on Saturday. I thought that would be TONS better than driving down Tuesday afternoon and back Tuesday night so after lessons I went home to greet my trick or treaters. To bad I didn't have any. So I took off for Norman around 8. I got in and we traveled to I-Hop for food and people watching fun. Drunk people in Halloween costumes... Can it get better?!

So Saturday I dragged myself out of bed and down to the County Courthouse. I waited in line for 2 and a 1/2 hours but I voted damn-it! Mission accomplished. I'll detail everything on my blog if you want to check that out. So after voting Cash and I met dad for lunch and then we did some shopping. We all went and saw "W" which was less funny and more scary than I thought it would be. Dad took off for home and then Cash and I changed into our costumes to head to a Halloween party one of his friends was having. It was lame so we came home. At this point Cash's friend Robert (the one who looks like Aaron) was with us and we played this cool board game til 2/1 in the morning.

We woke up Sunday and after a BLT adventure for breakfast we settled down and played that board game for 6 hours with only minor breaks in between. We were obsessed. It's crazy how much Robert and Aaron really are the same. The more time I spent with him the more I saw it. They talk the same way and make the same funny accents. It was just a really odd feeling but at the same time I was a lot more comfortable around him because he was familiar to me. Crazy man.

So I came home last night and crashed. The weekend was exhausting. I made it to school and I just finished spray painting all of my stands black again. Let the battle against writing on stands begin. We've started Christmas music so it's constantly in my head and last night in Wal-mart I saw a tree all decorated. It made me sad but then it reminded me of that time we decided to decorate the trees at Wal-mart and ran around mooing christmas carols. I almost died when I thought about that random lady joining in when we did Jingle Bells. Good Times!

So anyway. I miss you and I love you. I hope this entertained you for a little while. Have fun with your kiddos!

Things going on

I just went to my 5 year reunion last weekend. It was weird. I just talked to Michelle, Becky, Sam and their respective boys the whole time. Total waste of my time otherwise :o)

School's been crazy, busy. I've tried to blog a little more on my site. I'll keep writing when I can.

I still have to send you your housewarming/graduation present. I swear I'll do it!

Can you believe Bubs and I have been together almost a year now? November 7th is the day. So excited!

Keep me posted on how everything's going!

Hello, hello again.

Things are going well here. It's busy. This was actually the first week-end I've had for myself in a long time. It was glorious. I didn't do anything but watch tv and clean/laundry. Which was MUCH needed. Let's see. My kids at school are doing fine. I hate middle school and want to kill them constantly, but I think I expected that. My high schooler's are still wonderful. They're doing well and I'm teaching them how to transpose cause they had never heard of it before. Quality teaching they had going on here, le'me tell ya. My 5th graders are up and down. They're progressing nicely but get a little wild sometimes. We're calming that down though. I think I almost have my study hall convinced I'm the coolest teacher ever. We're playing games and Friday we watched a movie. Today they get brownies for the game we played last week. I'm working on them.

The boy is doing well. He's enjoying his new job, even though he's playing hookie today to come see me, and getting caught up on bills. Family is good. Gab-e is 7 months. You can look at her progress pics on myspace. The baby's name is going to be Sophie Louise and we're all anxiously awaiting her arrival. It looks like we're doing Christmas in OK this year so I don't know if I'll get the chance to come out, but I'll try. Things are going smoothly for them though. Mom, Dwayne, Tina and Janine all left San Juan yesterday for a cruise. It should be fabulous but I'm still trying to picture Janine in a bathing suit.

Life in general is pretty dull. I don't do anything that's not school or driving home for various reasons. Mom's been taking me to do lots of neat stuff... Mamma Mia! on stage, Kenny Chesney concert, Labor day trip to the creek, but she's about as exciting as my social life gets. Everybody here seems content in their own little worlds and I'm still an outsider. Oh well. That's life and at least I'm getting paid for it.

I think you should make a point to keep up with that teaching blog of yours. I know you're busy, but it will help. And I want to know all about school and your teaching and the funny/stupid shit your kids do. I'm always putting that stuff in my blog, which you should read. Today I had a 5th grader compare concert blacks to Christianly dress but Gothic!!!! I laughed for 10 min. I couldn't help it, Oh man. Still laughing. Ok, I'm off to lunch duty. I love you dear. BLOG MORE!

So updates...

As for my accident, I have some lovely leg scars, but I'm doing okay. I'm sick and keep coming close to losing my voice. Darn kids :) I can't wait for a break. It seems like I'm living for Saturday, spending all weekend recuperating, then going at it again. Mom and Dad are officially separated as of today. It's really weird. They seem to want to stay together, but they need to do this. I don't know how it will turn out.

How's work? The kids? The boy? Family? Life?

My first ambulance ride...

So I had my first ambulance ride on Tuesday. Bubs and I went to Luray, VA in the Shenandoah Valley (yes, Ticheli's Shenandoah). We had gone kayaking in June and decided to go back. We went tubing this time. We got to Class 2 rapids, and I flipped my tube over backward and nailed my head on a rock. Bubs was behind me so I held my foot really hard to a rock to keep from flowing further down river. I finally let go and just tried to hold onto the raft. When we got out, my legs were bleeding really bad. Bubs ripped up his shirt and tied them off {my hero ;o)}. He got me to eat and drink a little. I was shaking and nauseous and dizzy. So Bubs yelled over to these guys in a canoe - turns out they're boy scouts. They dressed my wounds, treated me for shock and called 911. Turns out I have a contusion on my head and some really nasty cuts up and down my legs. Other than that, I'll be fine. Bubs was amazing - stayed with me the whole time, kept me talking, was worried out of his head. I'm really lucky, I finally got a good one :)

Help!

I wish you were online! I think I should be writing lesson plans, but I have no idea how!!! What should I do??

It was time

I retired a classic today. Remember for my 16th birthday, you got me a light blue collared shirt and jeans, and we went to see Rent with my mom? Well, 6 years later, the shirt finally wore out. It had a good, long life. Probably the longest of all my clothes. Requiem in pacem, blue shirt.

AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

I'm moving in 6 days, I don't have anywhere near everything packed and that's the least of my worries. I have to make a round of phone calls to utility companies on Monday to make sure I have things like Power and Hot Water. I also need to call the lady I'm renting from to make sure she's got everything out of there. Everything but the couch, chair and loveseat that is. My last day of work here at Reynold's is on Wednesday and I'm excited and sad. It was a good job.

My Newkirk planning is starting off pretty good except for the fact that I don't know how many I have in my high school ensemble which means I can't write drill, I don't know what my schedule is and I don't have a football schedule! I guess I'm not really freaked out, just more annoyed. I didn't think I'd have to do the whole marching thing, but turns out I'm going to have to do a very minor version of it. Not a big deal. I've done marching band for so long I think I could teach it in my sleep. Well, maybe not, but pretty close. Everything is just piling up and it doesn't flow with my procrastinating attitude. Do you think a cartoon show is to hokey? It's Flinstones, Jetsons, Simpsons and Linus and Lucy. Arrangements are easy but not cheesey and I'm writing the drill.

Ok, I feel like I've been speed talking through blog so I'll stop now. BTW that recipe sounds delish. To bad all my kitchen stuff is packed away. Love you dear!

Recipe for Your Enjoyment

Since I couldn't give you some of what I made today, I'm giving you the recipe!

Mom's Peach Cake
8 large peaches
Fruit fresh or 1 tsp lemon juice
1 1/2 cups Bisquick
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
2 tbsp shortening

Peel and cut the peaches into slices. Sprinkle with a little sugar and fruit fresh or lemon juice to prevent browning. Set aside.

Mix the rest of the ingredients until well blended in a separate bowl.

Set the oven to 350 and grease a Pyrex dish. Put about 4 peaches and some juice spread out on the bottom of the dish. Cover with about half of the cake mixture. Put about 2 peaches on top of the cake. Cover with the rest of the mixture. Sprinkle the rest of the peaches on top. Bake at 350 for about 1/2 hour. Enjoy!!!

Kitty Drama

So Wicket went to get her second set of shots today. The vet bitched because our kitten's mother wasn't spayed. Wtf? Then she refused to believe Wicket is 4 months. She just wouldn't. THEN she hurt my kitty. The first shots, Wicket didn't even freak out. This vet, she goes ape shit. Boo for convenient, underpriced vaccine clinics.

HELLOOOOO!

I haven't been doing much lately, but I am going to Tulsa tonight! My friend Alan and I are going to the Oklahoma Bandmaster's Association Conference there. Guess what we get to do as a part of it.... We're seeing a DCI show! I'm mega excited. I've not been to one since I went with Russ and Tiff that one summer. And it's just right downt the street from my moms house! Woo I'm excited!!! I'll give the details later. Love you dear!

Sooo...

When I was in college my dad told me to write down what I did at the end of the day everyday before leaving work. That way, if it ever came to people getting sacked, I'd have proof of productivity. Taking that idea, and this idea here, I created a blog. Check it out - http://physteach.blogspot.com/. Warning: it is cheese-tastic.

Have you ever...

Have you ever seen Stranger than Fiction? I love, love, love that movie. It makes me want to open up a bakery. You can decorate, I'll cook - how about it? Ohio?

I just have to say.

CONGATULATIONS!!!! You're the smartest person I know! I love you! I love Ranch Dip! And Ryan and Ashley got to see dinosaur bones being excavated. Ok, that's it!

Eeeeeep!

Ok, so, I was sure I got a D, MAYBE a C in my Atmospheric Physics class. Since I work for the professor who graded me, I decided to wait to look at my grades (they do online only) until I finished working for him. Well, I'm applying to Notre Dame today, and I needed my new GPA. And I got a huge surprise: I got a B!!!!!!!!!!!!! I couldn't believe it, I called my mom, all excited and freaking out :o) This brings my awful 2.67 gpa up to a 2.80! Still far worse than any other school I've left, but better than nothing! In one whole messed up year, I had 3 B's, 2 P's, 1 C, and 1 W. Thank God I've survived UMBC!

Maybe you can help

So the reason I'm going crazy:

A few weeks ago I had a dream that I was getting married. Kimber, Shawn, and their 6 y/o son showed up, and Kimber was wearing a wedding dress at my wedding. Understandably, I was mad and hurt in the dream.

So, I wrote the dream down, sent it to her for a lark, to see what she thought that meant. I don't remember if I knew she was preggo at that point or not. I thought it meant that I'd be getting married in five years or so. She told me that deep down I'm jealous of her because she's starting her life and a family already and I'm not.

Ever since then I've been kind of hostile about her and I can't stop thinking about it. I can't watch the "Birth Day" shows because I feel like I'm being envious. I've got a little hole in my life that I haven't been able to fill yet and every time I try to figure out what it is I need, she pops into my head saying I'm jealous of what she has. Maybe some of it DOES have to do with the fact that I've done everything right and I'm barely scraping by and having a hard time making friends. She does whatever she wants and everyone is in love with her because/in spite of it.

I think the worst part is that I feel like she's being really irresponsible, even though I can't/won't say anything about it. Not to mention that her husband and I don't get along at all. Thoughts? Suggestions?

Eye Candy

I've got a few things for you my dear. First, the other receptionist at work (her name is Rachel) likes to call and chat when she's bored. It normally works out well, cause if she's bored I'm super bored. So a couple nights ago she calls me and tells me to go to a website. She's been looking at antique and estate rings. OMG they're gorgeous, and some aren't to spendy. I've found I'm a fan of art deco rings. I like them A LOT! So I've been looking at rings for a couple days and figured I share the joy, cause... yeah.

This ring is $700! AHHHHH!!!!

This one is only $300!

And this one is $500.

Of course there are some in the mid range. Still reasonable though.

This one's $1800, but it's GORGEOUS!!!! (I'm not sure I spelled that right, but who cares. There's eye candy to be had.

Now they've got some AMAZING rings that are outrageously priced, but I thought you had to see this one.

It's $60,000. That's right. More than any of the cars sitting in front of me (and that's not easy to do.) But it's 5.6 carats on a platinum band. Drool.

You should go to this website. It's www.ross-simons.com. They've got amazing stuff.

Love you dear!

In need of...

I am in desperate need of a good sleepover. Why, oh why must you live so very far away? I believe I've gone crazy and you, my dear, may be the only one to save me.

Things You Find at Homeland

Oh my.

No joke. I was buying cheese and I walked up to this. It turned out to be an inflatable dinosaur, but jeeze. They should sensor that kind of stuff. Kids could see it!

HAHAHAHHAHAHA!

Ok, so I'm at work and I just got this phone call from a woman claiming that we're sending her pornography and that she and her husband weren't interested in anything of the sort and we should take her off the list immediately. She would have no part of any explaination that I work in a car dealership, period. It was pretty much hilarious. And that's all I've got!

I got a job!!!

I'm teaching Algebra II and two types of Physics at Our Lady of Good Counsel. David's gf went to high school there. It's a really great place to work, and I love it there.

Happy Fourth of July!

Hey! So you remember that time we went to see the Baltimore Symphony on the Fourth? And it was tragically hot until we got all of our stuff set up and then it poured down rain for 15 min so that we were throroughly soaked/damp for the rest of the evening?? That was one hell of a fun Fourth!

This year will be a bit more tame for me. I'm going to see Phantom tomorrow night with mom and my friend Nicole and then on the Fourth (because by some miracle the dealership is closed on the 4th) I'm going to one of my mom's neighbor's cook out thing. We might go see Sex In the City too since you raved about it so much. Not to mention the last time mom went to the movies it was with Josh and he wasn't that interested in it. Go figure.

That's about the only interesting thing that's happening now a days. Cash suprised me last night with a candle-lit diner on the patio in the gorgeous weather, which was amazing and my cat, the elder of the two, has become some what of a conneseur of sleeping in strange places.

Once again, Happy Fourth! Next year we're together on the Fourth! NO MATTER WHAT! How's that job search going by the way?

What a Weekend...

So this past weekend Bubs and I went down to Luray, VA with his family. I'd never been before. I met a TON of people I had known once upon a time - my old karate instructor and friends of my dad, MARIE BROOKS(!), and a guy who was a friend of a friend of Tony's that we used to camp with. It was crazy. On Saturday, we kayaked down the river. My hands hurt so bad!!! We loved it so much that we're going back in August. It was the most refreshed that I've been in a while. While I enjoyed the day trips to the beach, they caused more stress than helped. When we go back, we're kayaking again, going to Skyline Drive, and checking out Luray Caverns. I'm so excited :o)

Life is Boring!

I feel like I do nothing but work and sleep. I've been crafting a lot, which my other blog covers extensively... Caitlin says I've become a craft blogger. I just don't have anything else to do. I've been meaning to ask you if you ever sent that package, cause I never got it. Man, I'm totally boring! You should post pictures of the Kitty! Ok, that was lame but it's all I've got. Love you darling!

Confused

Two parter.

Part One - Is there any way for this thing to tell me when there are posts? I forgot to check for a few days and there were a ton.

Part Two - I have a nice apartment. I'm getting out of my crappy job and into a good one. I'm almost finished applying to CND. I found out I get paid roughly double my salary for the summer. I have a brand new kitten. I have an AMAZING boyfriend, way better than my last one. So why do I feel so bad?
It started a few days ago, I started feeling really sad about Tony. Not like I wanted him back, no way in hell. Just like it was a part of my life that ended. Now I'm sad in general with this huge gaping hole and full of longing. I need something really badly but I don't know what it is. Like I'm almost suffocating. I have this uncontrollable, constant urge to run away. Like I need to go away, anywhere but here. But everywhere I go, that I can go with my time and monetary constraints, I feel the same. Any thoughts?

Ouchies

Casey here:
I was headed out the door for work and I stepped, bare footed, on an uphosltry tack. I hobbled to the bathroom and painfully pulled it out and dr'ed it up but ice cream was necessary. Boo ouchies.

Bah!

Casey here:

They changed the hours of operation at work.  It basically means I'll be at work for 13 hours straight on Saturday.  I'm not happy!

Cable TV Fixer-Upper Shows

Remember how we were always talking about fixing each other up on one of those cable TV fixer-upper shows? I could really go for being on the receiving end of Extreme Makeover or What Not to Wear right about now. I'd love for someone to a) pay for a new wardrobe and b) put me in something that looks good on me for once. As I write, I'm sitting here in jeans (new ones actually), an old men's undershirt that I tye dyed almost a year ago, and flip flops that are two flips and one flop from having my feet hit the ground. Plus side - cute hair with red highlights and some pretty Coach glasses.

Father's Day!

Casey here:

Today Cash and I went to dad's for father's day dinner.  It was fun and on the way home we stopped at the Turner Falls lookout.  We snuck down around a path that had been blocked off.  We hiked a little bit and then headed home.  We got stuck in monster traffic on the way back to Norman.  Man it took forever to go 10 miles.  Aggghhhh.  We're home now and planning to do a ton of yard work tomorrow.  Talk a'cha later babe!

Mr. Toad

Casey here:

So last summer we discovered a toad on our front porch.  We lovingly gave him the name Mr. Toad.  He was there to greet us every time we walked outside.  Well this summer Mr. Toad is back!  Being a reptile lover I thought you'd appreciate this!

Here's Mr. Toad.

Photobucket

And this year he's got a friendie!!! We've lovingly named her Mrs. Toad!

This is Mrs. Toad!

Photobucket

Hello there!

Casey here:

Ok, so when we were in high school our circle of friends had notebooks. We used these notebooks to communicate instead of writing 7 of the same note to each of our friends. We had an order and each person took turns writing and reading the messages from all our friends. This is our updated version. Kim and I are best friends. We've been best friends since high school. College took us to different states that happened to be about 3000 miles apart. We've stayed in touch well, but never well enough. We love each other dearly and share everything. This will make it easier to keep in touch and share the amusing experiences of day to day life!
